Pre-launch status: this notice describes the intended handling of website enquiries. Legal-entity, registered-address and controller details must be inserted before commercial launch.
Information collected
BenScot may collect the details entered in the enquiry form, correspondence, service requirements, country information and technical security logs. The first-contact form asks users not to submit identity, financial, health or confidential transaction documents.
Purposes and lawful bases
Enquiry information is used to respond, assess service suitability, take steps before a contract, protect the website and maintain necessary business records. Depending on the circumstances, the lawful basis may be pre-contract steps, legitimate interests, legal obligation or consent.
Service providers and international access
Website hosting, email, form processing and professional partners may process information only for the defined purpose. If information must be shared with a local partner, BenScot will explain the role and obtain any required agreement before disclosure.
Retention
Unsuccessful general enquiries are intended to be removed or anonymised after a proportionate period, normally no longer than 12 months unless a legal, complaint, fraud-prevention or active business reason requires longer retention. Contract and accounting records may have longer statutory periods.
Individual rights
Depending on the applicable law, individuals may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and complaint to the relevant supervisory authority.
